Otago Merino Association AGM

The Otago Merino Association's AGM will be held on the same day at 3.45pm at the Novotel straight after the NZ Merino’s Fibre Select. Everyone is welcome.

NZ Wool Classers Association AGM

The New Zealand Wool Classer Association Annual General Meeting will be held on 18 June 2010 at 8:15am in meeting room 5 at The Millennium Hotel in Queenstown. This is your classer association. The Board members wish to reinforce that they are working for you as a classer and therefore value any input you might like to put forward.

Fibre Select 2010

The New Zealand Merino Company invites all professional and owner classers, shearing contractors and wool handlers to attend Fibre Select 2010, a comprehensive classer training event focussing on current market messages, hands-on classing, and practical advice and information. Fibre Select is intended to help you optimise the value of the New Zealand clip. Growers are asked to encourage their classers to attend to ensure they are all up to date with the latest market information.

Merino Excellence Awards

The Otago Merino Association's annual dinner will be held on Friday 18 June 2010 at Moonlight Country. As usual the winners of the NZWTA Clip of the Year and Ravensdown Merino Production competition will be announced during the evening. Everyone is welcome.

The venue is about 25 minutes out of Queenstown and will be difficult to find. We will be meeting at the Novotel Lakeside Hotel, Marine Parade in Queenstown at 5.50pm, buses leaving there at 6.00pm SHARP. It is very important that you arrive on time, as if you are not there we will have to assume you are not coming after all. The first bus will leave to return from Moonlight Country at 11.30pm and the last bus around 12.30am. Enjoy fantastic food, superb wine and, of course, great company!

Mackenzie - Waitaki Merino Two Tooth Competition

Dates are Thurs 27th and Fri 28th May - to be held in Mackenzie area this year.

• First day to start at Black Forest station approx 8.30 am.
• Social function to be held at Glenmore station at conclusion of judging on Thursday evening.
• Presentation dinner end of second day at Mackenzie Country Inn, Twizel commencing 7-7.30pm.

Chris Bowman from Victoria, Australia and Andrew Sutherland, Benmore station will be judges for this year.

Anyone is welcome to come along and follow the competition as suits - it’s guaranteed a good day out.
